Robertson Avenue progressed to Stage 3
KRA are delighted to announce that their Student Residence portfolio has increased and have lodged a full Detailed Planning Application for a 60 Bed PBSH (Purpose Built Student Housing) development infilling a historic gap site to the corner of Robertson Avenue and Robertson Gait. Following a PreApp enquiry, the proposal reflects the stepped tenements on the inclined streetfront and completes it with a contemporary interpretation continuing the visual cues of the existing stepped terrace with a recessed attic storey, buff natural stonework to Robertson Avenue and paired fenestration
Good Progress at North Berwick as practical completion approaches
The total overhaul of the roof is now complete with a slate selected to match the original Westmoreland Green to this prominent corner site. The internal alterations and general refurbishments are progressing well also to this smartly presented stone faced villa and annex. KRA has progressed this project from Stage 1 through to Stage 5 and as completion is approaching are pleased to see the proposals approach the finished product.

Residential Development Planned for Restalrig moves a stage closer
KRA are delighted to have taken to Stage 4 Tender a proposal for 11 flats for the rental market on the site of two bungalows, now demolished in Restalrig. Located in a mixed use area in NE Edinburgh the site, planning consent was secured in 2024 with adjustments made to the proposals in 2025 and with a building warrant now secured KRA look forward to guiding this project through Stages 5 & 6
Gorgie Road Apart Hotel Consent granted
May 2026 – Planning Consent has been granted for a new Apart Hotel to Gorgie Road. Currently the site of a taxi business the site is accessed through a pend to the backlands. Timber features guide you to the landscaped courtyard around which proposal has been carefully crafted with the railway embankment to be transformed into a living green wall and other ecological features including green and bio-diverse roofs.
Barnton Refurbishment progresses to Stage 5
May 2026 – KRA are proud to partnering with Platinum Property Services again as we take this project, located in the Barnton Conservation Area to RIBA stage 5:Construction. The extensive alterations will add contemporary drama to this large detached house with greenery and large mature trees surrounding the site. The interior of the house features a dramatic cantilevered staircase to the main hallway along with glazed balustrade landings. The unifying design will bring together the various previous epochs of the evolution of the property.
